Some secrets can last for centuries.
Marcus Weaving is a retired psychology lecturer and therapist. Not a man to sit around, he volunteers at his local university. Years of clinical practice are put to the test when he receives a mischievous text from somebody called L.
Intrigued and unnerved, Marcus goes to the address provided and is welcomed by a beautiful blonde woman named Lily. Their story goes way back to his tumultuous youth when he had to flee from his abusive mother and other demons skulking around.
Timing for a romantic reunion could not be any worse. Marcus is about to become a grandfather and he has ongoing issues with his estranged, drug addicted son.
Why has Lily shown up after all of this time? And, why hasn’t she aged a day?

What did I think? The million dollar question!
This was defintely twisted for a supernatural thriller and I would also classify it under psychological too! It had all the elements in a very twisted way. Marcus is a strong character because he moved on after initially meeting Lily. He is a good man, who watches his son turn to drugs and faces hard choices. But when Lily comes back into his life, things take a turn from when they initially first met. If you understand the feelings and pains that Marcus experiences, you begin to feel drawn to him.
While I liked the character Marcus, I have to be honest and say I didn't like Lily from the beginning. I understand her character and why she is the way she is but there was just something that didn't make me connect to her. It didn't deter me from reading or even recommending this book, it's just that I couldn't relate or like her. Maybe it was because she was narcissistic in a way and I didn't relate to her. That again, is just my opinion, as a reviewer. Lily couldn't control her emotions and was very self serving.
The book as a whole did take me on a very twisted ride and I like THAT alot from books. I highly recommend this book but you have to draw out the noise (if you are like me and just didn't like Lily). It does get very detailed in the back story but that doesn't take away from the book. I could only give this a 4 out of 5 stars. Let's blame Lily!!!
